Note: I dreamt up this idea several weeks ago & have been preparing it with much deliberation. There are a few offerings that will make you wonder once again for my sanity or lack there-of. There are one's that are not necessarily pristine. One had the final track so messed up that I couldn't even rip it & had to substitute another track (a bonus track from the CD from the same session). I was still heavily influenced by my positive appraisal of 21st Century Dub & was weighted a bit in that direction. I didn't want to post things I felt were more well known, available elsewhere. I didn't want to post anything I already had (you wouldn't believe the problems that caused...big whole). I didn't want to trumpet the big names: Tubby; Joe Gibbs; Coxsone; Prince Jammy; Bunny Lee; Lee Perry...but this was all before Pipecock blasted off.So I've already been paying tribute to the Mage of DUB. I'll probably change up entries when the Super Ape mood comes calling, but I'll try not to be too maudlin. I'll stick to the plan as I can. 4) Heath referred to Hasaan being avant garde before Cecil Taylor, and said that Hasaan didn't get as many gigs as other pianists, which the following story might explain. Hasaan was playing a gig with the singer Bull Moose Jackson, who was an ugly man (hence the nickname) who could sing pretty. The band was going to play 'Flying Home'(Heath sang the melody so people would know how it went). Bull Moose said to Hasaan, "Give me that intro." Hasaan proceeded to play the intro as you'd expect Hasaan to play it. Bull Moose then said, "Give me that intro again!" He couldn't find where to come in.

Prickles in Solanum are epidermal in origin and are thought to be modified multicellular stellate trichomes with layers of elongate and lignified cells (Whalen 1984). The common origin of trichomes and prickles can be observed on young stems of S. barbisetum where some trichomes develop longer lignified stalks that become prickles with an apical stellate trichome that is later deciduous. Often prickles can themselves bear trichomes, reflecting their epidermal nature. The development of prickles in Solanum has not been studied in detail in any species.

Pedicels are usually herbaceous but, at the fruiting stage in large-fruited species, become woody and up to 9 mm in diameter at the base. Pedicels in most species uniformly abscise less than 1 mm from the base or at the base (see Fig. 4). In contrast, in potatoes and their relatives, the abscission zone is in the middle of the pedicel (Spooner et al. 2014), and in the Dulcamaroid clade, the pedicel bases are sleeve-like (Bohs 2005; Knapp 2013a). In most species, pedicels are usually straight in bud but recurved in flower and fruit (e.g., S. poka, S. torvoideum), but in others, they are strongly curved in flower but straighten and become erect during fruit development (e.g., S. giganteum). Pedicel curvature in fruit is a useful taxonomic character for distinguishing S. deflexicarpum and S. multiflorum from the sympatric S. violaceum; the former two taxa have strongly curved pedicels in fruit whereas S. violaceum has straight, spreading pedicels (Figs 3A, B, 18, 45, 78). Conspicuously tapered pedicels that are much wider at the distal end are seen in S. schefferi (Fig. 67).

Solanum jamaicense has been identified as a potential problematic weed in the state of Florida (Diaz et al. 2008) where it is locally invasive in the hammock habitat in the central part of the state where it was first recorded in 1930. It has not yet, however, become more widely distributed there.
